HP Launches e-Vectra Desktop
Hewlett-Packard Co. has debuted its HP e-Vectra desktop computer, which it describes as the first offering in its line of "e-PCs." The eight-pound unit is built without PCI or ISA slots or a floppy disk drive, and is designed to simplify maintenance and limit the number of peripherals that can be added, says HP. It offers either an Intel Pentium III or Celeron, and runs Windows 98/NT/2000. Ports: parallel, serial, two PS/2, and two USBs. The desktops come bundled with HP e-DiagTools software.

DocPrint N Series
Xerox Corp. has introduced its DocuPrint N Series of monochrome workgroup laser printers. The five models include an embedded Web server, Ethernet 10/100 Base T and USB connectivity, says Xerox.
* The DocuPrint N2125 targetssmall workgroups, has a speed of 21 pages-per-minute, and a 1200 by 1200 resolution.

* For small to medium workgroups, the DocuPrint N2025, is a 20 p-p-m printer which also has a 1200 by 1200 resolution. In the same class is the N2825, which offers 28 p-p-m printing. Both printers are able to print envelopes from main paper trays and can handle 11 by 17 inch paper.

* The N3225 and N4025 are designed for medium to large workgroups. They have a 32 and 40 p-p-m speed, respectively, and have a 3,550 page input capacity.

The Sharp Electronics Corp.'s FO-5800 laser fax machine combines standard duplex scanning with 1,250-sheet paper capacity and a scan speed of 30 pages per minute.The unit has a transmission speed of 2 pages per second.
The unit has a JBIG compression system to reduce transmission time. An optional Windows GDI Parallel Interface enables the unit to double as an 8 p-p-m, 600 dpi laser printer.

The MFX-1500E is a multi-functional fax/copier/printer with a 2.8 second transmission speed, "scan once/copy many" digital copying and a 400 dpi print engine, reports Muratec America Inc., based in Plano, Texas.
It is equipped with a 32-bit FaxRISC microprocessor and has QuadAccess, which allows it to perform four tasks at once, and Muratec ImageLSI for clearer faxes.

Van Son Holland Ink Corp. of America has introduced its new line of Epson compatible EasyPrint and ArtColour inkjet cartridge. The Easy Print cartridges are compatible with Epson 400, 600, 700, 800 series, and 1200 and 1520 models. The ArtColour cartridges are compatible with Epson's 3000, 5000 and 9000 series mid- and wide-format printers.
