Document Management System
Primera Aimed At Small Firms
NETRIGHT Technologies Inc., of San Mateo, Calif., has launched a new edition of its popular document management product. Designed for midsize and small firms, with one to 100 users, iManage Primera is a full- featured document management system, says NetRight.
Primera offers the same functions of its big sister, iManage (which is aimed at large firm environments), including a modular design, security and the ability to customize the program, NetRight explains.
The three-tiered system architecture provides stability, and scalability, it says. Primera offers the same client interfaces as iManage: Network, Web, and remote, says NetRight, which says easy migration to the large firm version is available for firms that grow beyond the Primera limits. NetRight also offers special kits for firms transitioning from PC DOCS or SoftSolutions, it advises.

WORLDOX8 Upgrades Security Tools
WORLD Software Corp., of Ridgewood, N.J., has announced the release of WORLDOX8, the latest edition of the company's document management program.
The upgrade, which is scheduled to ship in May, features a re-engineered and upgraded Document Security System, advises the company. It provides file-level security, improved group management capabilities and an improved security setup interface, says the company.
The program permits groups of users, with varying rights, to access functions such as "find," "read," "write," "change," "delete" "profile," or "secure" documents, explains World.
Site administrators can manage multiple WORLDOX sites linked together using a company wide area network (WAN), it says. The program automatically pushes configuration and user information from a designated primary site to satellite sites, whether they are physically located across town or on the other side of the planet, says World.
Other features include the ability to search and to create templates to insert standard or often-used phrases to save time and ensure consistency, says World. ISYS 5.0 is included in the new edition, enabling full-text searches, it says. The improved Graphical User Interface (GUI) is faster, and constructed in a more modular fashion, says the company. Toolbars can be customized, and feature standard buttons with descriptive text or a new "mini button" format, it says.
Other upgrades include "speed folders" and wizards, notes World, adding that a free conversion program is available for users migrating from other products.
