KeyCite: West's Research Powerhouse
West says that its new citation service will change the landscapeIS THERE a "West-ize" in your future? Eagan, Minn.'s West Group thinks so, with the announcement late last month of the launch of a major new product called KeyCite, an innovative service that the company says will revolutionize the way lawyers and other legal professionals perform legal research.
KeyCite is a new citation service that tells researchers whether their case is still "good" law and enables them to find related cases more efficiently than they were able to in the past, according to West. A KeyCite search will also find additional cases and analytical materials such as American Law Reports and law review articles to help support legal arguments, West says.
KeyCite brings together information previously found in four separate services, West reports, by melding innovative computer technology with the advantages of West's Key Number System. Beta testers who've used KeyCite report that the service enabled them to perform high-quality research more efficiently with less cost to the client, according to West.
