LawDesk Now Open on Windows

THE LAWDESK CD-ROM research system from Lawyers Cooperative Publishing is now available in Windows as well as DOS.

The research tool is an integrated system that helps attorneys to be computer proficient without necessarily having to be computer literate. Attorneys can search all LawDesk titles quickly, logically, and in plain English, according to the publisher's New York Publishing Division, based in Stamford, Conn.

The electronically linked CD-ROMs are said to create a research system that takes the lawyer to all relevant cases, statutes, regulations, or analyses with only a few keystrokes. The Windows version offers easy-to-use on-screen applications, including icons and help menus, that help attorneys during information searches.

These features, the company explains, help users understand where their queries went wrong, and help them determine whether a search may have been too general or narrow.

Once a search is completed, users can print the results, use a built-in notebook feature, or incorporate information from the search into briefs or other word processing documents.
