Procom Launches Two New Storage Solutions

PROCOM Technologies of Irvine, Calif., has introduced two new storage solutions:

CDFORCE, the company's CD server product line now has software embedded in it that offers law firm network administrators what the company describes as an easy way to network CD-ROMS.

The new software solution, according to Procom, eliminates the need to install software and configure it with server hardware.

Administrators can choose from 14-, 21-, and 5-drive CD servers in a tower arrangement, providing up to 36 gigabytes of storage capacity. The servers can be equipped with quad- or six-speed drives.

The LANForce R2000 RAID subsystem features a new high-speed SCSI disk array controller that provides 3,500 inputs-outputs per second and 18 megabytes-per-second sustained throughput for each of two SCSI Fast-and-Wide host channels.

The controller, according to the company, integrates easily into the subsystem's enclosures to provide a complete storage solution.

Designed to meet the needs of large law firms, the LANForce Raid subsystems offer more than one terabyte of storage capacity, up to 20 megabytes per second data transfer rate and access times as low as six milliseconds, the company reports.
