LARGER law firms whose lawyers use different types of computers may want to consider CD Creation Station, a cross platform CD-ROM solution that organizes data from a user's computer and generates standard CD-ROM discs for UNIX, Macintosh and PC users, according to Soliton Computing Incorporated of Redlands, Calif. The system's premastering software is said to be the only software that enables users to create hybrid formatting. The solution is a plug-and-play record solution, and comes with premastering software, a network controller, and a four-speed CD recorder.
The premastering software, the company reports, allows users to test and manipulate their data images before recording. The premastering software is loaded to the CD Creation Station's network controller unit, not to the user's computer, thereby eliminates the partitioning and transferring of data from the user's hard drive.
