ProDoc Eases Use of Object-Oriented Language

AUTOMATED Legal Systems, Inc. has released ProDoc Developer, document assembly authoring software that the company says enables users to produce expert systems that are compatible with the ProDoc document assembly program. ProDoc, the Universal City, Texas firm reports, has previously been marketed as a systems assembly engine for state specific forms sets. The new software will enable lawyers to use ProDoc's object-oriented language.

The Developer's interface is a standard Windows-based system with context-senstive help. It offers point-and-click operations for creating both simple questions and complex logical instructions, the company adds. Although the developer does not require a specific word processor in order to create an system, ProDoc comes with a slick interface to WordPerfect for Windows Version 6.0 and newer versions.

Using the Developer system, the company explains, a lawyer can develop a library of questions and instructions that can be used in any number of separate forms within a system. This attribute results in easy system maintenance because the lawyer need update only a single question or instruction and the change takes effect in all appropriate places throughout the system.
