FARALLON Computing, Inc. announced that it has redesigned its EtherWave networking hardware and software for increased portability. The transceiver's size, according to the company, has been reduced by 40 percent.
The EtherWave AUI Transceiver, which connects personal computers, UNIX workstations and printers that are equipped with an AUI Ethernet port, allows users to connect Ethernet-equipped computers or printers to a 10Base-T Ethernet.
The plug-and-play technology incorporated into the EtherWave transceiver permits users to daisy chain computers or printers to a single Ethernet port.
Users can apply the technology to build an eight-node network without a hub, the company reports.
