MOTOROLA Information Systems Group's Transmission Products Division has introduced the Lifestyle 28.8 PCMCIA modem for remote access, telecommunicating, and Internet access. The product is a 16-bit, Type II PC Card compliant modem that incorporates V.34 technology. Targeted at lawyers who seek fast transmission speeds for e-mail, file transfers, and database access, the Lifestyle 28.8 is also backward compatible to low-speed modem standards in order to provide compatibility with other modems to which users might connect, the company reports.
The modem incorporates Motorola's 68356 processor, fax error correction, and Smith Micro's Quicklink Mobile data/fax software.
