LAW FIRMS seeking a small, user friendly thermal barcoding system for document and file tracking have a new option in Ovation, a new system being offered by Datamax of Orlando, Fla. The standard model offers direct thermal operation; a field installable mechanism allows for thermal transfer printing.
The unit has a small footprint of 8.8 inches by 10.1 inches and weighs seven pounds. The unit's clamshell design, Datamax reports, allows for easy drop-in media loading and simplified snap-in ribbon loading. The unit accepts roll-fed and fan-fold labels, tickets and tags and prints on paper and synthetic materials up to 4.65 inches wide by 12 inches long, with a maximum print width of 4.16 inches.
