STENOGRAPH Corp. has released CaseViewII, a Windows version of its real-time litigation support software for lawyers. Real-time transcription refers to the instantaneous display of testimony in a deposition or trial. As the court reporter's steno notes are entered into the writing machine, they are instantly translated into plain English. The transcript is transmitted simultaneously to any number of computers, either inside or outside the courtroom, using CaseViewII software, thereby providing an online, unedited transcript to all lawyers involved in the case, the company reports.
The software also allows lawyers to scroll back, search, mark for later reference and annotate witness testimony. The new Windows version, Stenograph reports, also features several enhancements such as report-generating capabilities that include the capacity to print out individual attorney notes, specific issues identified for further exploration and marked text designated for review at the end of the day.
