ADDRESSMATE Plus, an enhancement of a Windows-based address management and label design software program, now incorporates Pitney-Bowes address correction technology.
The enhancement allows the program automatically to correct mistakes in addresses, add the nine-digit (ZIP+4) code and qualify for postal discounts law firms making the mailing, according to CoStar Corporation of Greenwich, Conn.
The AddressMate program manages address lists and offers a flexible designer that enables users to print labels, envelopes, postcards, and any other form that fits through a printer, the company reports.
Licensed from Pitney-Bowes Software Systems, the address correction technology includes a CD-ROM containing deliverable U.S. addresses.
The software compares addresses against the national address database, corrects mistakes, standardizes the addresses with proper punctuation and abbreviations, and adds the nine-digit code. Addresses can be corrected using the following options: (1) directly from within Microsoft Word, WordPerfect, Ami Pro, or Word Pro; (2) from within the AddressMate Plus database; (3) from within other databases that were merged-printed through AddressMate Plus.
