WORKSTATION Manager Plus for NetWare 4.x is a network and workstation management tool that allows administrators to manage and control the workstation environment against accidental and malicious changes and to protect valuable law firm information, according to PC Guardian of San Rafael, Calif. WMP is installed, administered, and uninstalled on all network workstations from a convenient central point, usually the administrator's own workstation.
WMP's benefits are reported to include reduced network costs, decreased down time and enforcement of law firm policies regarding unapproved software.
At the workstation level, WMP provides control features such as preventing users from changing the workstation configuration programs or executing illegal software, and eliminating virus infections and unauthorized access, according to PC Guardinan.
