Dictation System
Synergy Improves Communications
LAW FIRMS and corporate legal departments can dramatically improve communications and productivity, according to
Stratford, Conn.'s Dictaphone Corp., by using synergy, the company's new integrated communication and
messaging system.
Designed to coordinate and organize key functions in today's automated law office, synergy puts voice mail, e-mail
and fax services in one convenient location, Dictaphone says, allowing lawyers to concentrate on billable work instead
of time-consuming information management. Messages are listed graphically by synergy, along with the name of the
sender and the subject of the message, according to the company, which notes that unlike most voice-mail systems,
synergy allows users to retrieve messages in any order.
The system also offers convenient message-forwarding with multi-media features, Dictaphone explains. Messages
can be forwarded to other system users with recorded voice or typed notes attached, the company says, and as an
added security feature, messages may be marked "non-forwardable" when sent to another user.
