DataSafe Automates Protection

CONNECTED Corp. of Framingham, Mass., has begun a new service, called DataSafe, that offers small- to medium-size law firms, sole practitioners and attorneys working at home automated online PC file backup and disaster recovery, the company reports.

Connected says the new service is designed for businesses and individuals who have neither the time for the resources to devote to routine data management tasks. Backup occurs over Connected's private dial-up network or via the Internet, the company reports. Multiple passwords as well as data encryption ensure data security.

ZyBASE Offers Litigation Support

ZYLAB International Inc. has debuted software designed specifically for litigation support, investigations and research involving large document collections. Called ZyBASE, the product allows document images to interact in relational databases, the company reports.

ZyLab says that ZyBASE uses HTML fields to link indexed documents with database tables, allowing users to customize input forms through which key fields can be updated at any stage of the litigation life cycle.

The Buffalo Grove, Ill., company notes that the product was designed with input from law firms in the U.S. and Canada.
