Corel Legal Adds Voice Recognition
IN AN announcement sure to please lawyers with less-than-perfect typing skills, Corel Corp. of Ottawa has declared that the latest edition of its software suite designed specifically for the legal profession -- Corel's WordPerfect Suite 8 -- Legal Edition for Windows 95 and Windows NT -- will incorporate voice recog-nition software by integrating Dragon Systems' Dragon Dictate NaturallySpeaking into the product.
The new edition of WordPerfect Suite 8 - Legal contains tools for contact management, time and billing, document assembly and comparison and a legal dictionary, says Corel, as well as being voice-enabled. The product is scheduled for distribution in late March, the company adds.
Dragon Systems Inc., headquartered in Newton, Mass., describes its product as a high performance, cost-effective speech and language technology tool that enables lawyers to create text, issue commands and enter data simply by speaking as they normally speak.
