Legal Suite Is Now Available For Dragon NaturallySpeaking
THE DAY that lawyers can toss their keyboards may be closer to reality as Dragon Systems Inc. unveils its new Dragon NaturallySpeaking Legal Suite. Dragon, based in Newton, Mass., says that the latest version of its speech recognition software includes a comprehensive legal vocabulary and other features designed to increase productivity for legal professionals. The product allows users to create briefs, notes, correspondence and other documents by speaking naturally using Corel WordPerfect, Microsoft Word and other popular Windows applications, says Dragon.
The new vocabulary includes legal words, terms, court names and abbreviations, Dragon explains. Vocabulary can be customized by using the software's Vocabulary Builder feature, which automatically analyzes documents to find new terms, the company adds.

LEXIS Can Send Documents Safely
LEGAL, business and government professionals can now ship confidential documents securely over the Internet with the assurance that only intended recipients can open them, promises LEXIS-NEXIS, announcing its new Secure Documents Service.
Using technology developed by NetDox Inc., the service not only enables users to send documents safely, but provides a time-stamped audit trail to verify receipt by the correct party, advises LEXIS-NEXIS, based in Dayton, Ohio.
Secure Document Service employs multiple levels of encryption, the company says. Customers can request digital certificates, which are issued by LEXIS-NEXIS and Martindale-Hubbell, the company explains.
