Timeslips Deluxe for Windows Version 8.0, from Timeslips Corp. of Dallas: Version 8.0 offers several powerful and comprehensive new features, including a more modern interface using tabbed dialogs, more billing options, new "total text" searching system to aid finding phrases or names, increased ease of use and enhanced reporting capabilities, says Timeslips. The "Windows 95-like" interface in Timeslips Deluxe 8.0 provides the most usable interface in the industry, Timeslips reports. Timeslips 8.0 also incorporates the utilization of the right mouse button within the new upgrade, according to the company.

Carpe Diem, from Sage U.S. Inc. of Dallas: Version 2.2 of this software speeds up data import, and users who need to record their activities can create accurate records of the time they spend on tasks which can then be posted into virtually any PC, mini-computer or mainframe database. The software's open architecture allows users to use industry standard report writers to read and modify any data in the system.

Time Matters for Windows 2.0, from Data.Txt Corp. of Coral Gables, Fla.: Time Matters 2.0, a multi-threaded 32-bit version, adds laptop and multiple office synchronization to the software, according to Data. Txt as well as long file name support. Direct links to Capsoft's HotDocs legal forms software, U.S. Robotics Pilot handheld computer, Visioneer's PaperPort Deluxe scanning software and the TABS III billing system (which joins the software's widely used link to Timeslips Deluxe) add versatility to Time Matters 2.0, the company reports.

Peachtree Complete Accounting Plus Time & Billing, from Peachtree Software of Norcross, Ga.: According to the company, this software offers users several benefits to simplify the billing process, including an easy-to-use built-in timer that tracks time spent on specific activities; multiple billing status options and billing types or rates that give users flexibility invoicing clients; and an expense-tracking feature that shows amounts spent on items such as copies, faxes and telephone charges.
