Iomega Speeds Up Notebook Zip Drive, Adds Performance

IOMEGA Corp. has announced enhancements to the features of its Notebook Zip Drive that the company says better meet the needs of lawyers and other users with increased speed, durability and unlimited capacity. The company says the Zip drive includes a turbo-speed enhancement that delivers more than 40 percent faster performance when copying files in Windows 95 as well as an advanced head-protection system offering additional defense to the drive's reading and writing mechanism from abrupt or excessive movement.

Iomega also notes that the new drive can run both audio and video, and it consumes less power with an automatic shift to "sleep" mode when the the drive has not been used for as little as one minute.

Iomega is headquartered in Roy, Utah.
