Xchange: LEXIS Via Web
LEXIS-NEXIS has announced a fall launch for its first Web-based interactive resource, LEXIS-NEXIS Xchange, which the company says will provide a single location for practitioners to answer essentially any practice-related question.
Lawyers and legal professionals will be able to tap into the latest legal and general news, use special links to the company's legal data warehouse, network with peers and discuss significant legal issues, explains LEXIS, as well as send secure and confidential documents over the Internet from the Xchange site with technology developed by NetDox Inc.
LEXIS-NEXIS is based in Dayton, Ohio.

Summation Blaze Adds Case Organizer
SUMMATION Legal Technologies Inc. of San Francisco has added a new dimension to integrated litigation support with the release of the newest version of its flagship product, Summation Blaze 5.0, according to the company. Among the new features, says the company, are a "Case Organizer" that lets users drag and drop selected results from a series of searches into an outline-style staging area; the new "Hot Fact" feature that permits users to click-flag key case information, such as testimony excerpts, annotations and document summaries; and searches, chronologies and issue indexes that can be restricted to Hot Facts. In addition, adds Summation, the new "ocrBase" add-on provides a platform tailored for management, retrieval and integration of OCR-scanned documents with the litigation support package. This utility allows images to be viewed on-screen in tandem with text, the company says.
