Verbatim Releases DataLifePlus Unit

Verbatim Corp. has introduced its new DataLifePlus 10x 650MB CD-ReWriteable unit. It uses recording layer technology to offer recording speeds of more than 1.5 MB per second, the company says. The recording layer technology offers noise-free playback and the ability to continuously overwrite data.

Connex N3000

Connex, a developer of Network Attached Storage and Storage Area Networks, has released a new version of its N3000 NAS appliance. The unit offers a capacity of 216 GB, and incorporates up to six 36 GB drives. It can be used as a free standing tower or as a rack mounted system.

Procom Software

Procom Technology has released its software revision for its mid-range and high-end NetFORCE series of network attached storage appliances.

They include the NetFORCE 1500, 2200 HA and 2500 SFT platforms.

Revisions include support for Windows NT Access Control Lists, newly designed Java-based graphical user interface, and enhanced Symmetrical Fault Tolerance architecture.

Interface Cable

The IEEE1394A interface cable from Addonics Technologies can be used with any of the devices in its portable storage line, and is compatible with PC, Macintosh and iMac systems. The cable can also function as "Plug and Play" for Windows 98 SE, 2000, and Mac OS 9.0, the company says.

DAT Drive

Tecmar Inc., an Overland Data Co., has released its first DDS-4 DAT drive. The WangDAT 9400 has a 20GB capacity on a single DAT cartridge. It is designed for mid-range to large departmental and application server environments. The drive is backward read and write compatible with WangDAT DDS-1, 2 and 3 tape drives. The WangDAT 9400 DSS-4 drive can be an internal unit or external subsystem.

Data Archiver

The NetAcquire Data Archiver samples analog, digital, and serial data signal at selected speeds, and stores the data on an internal 10GB hard disk. From Real Time Integration, it can operate as a standalone unit or as a network peripheral.

When connected to an Ethernet network, the archived data files can be accessed through any computer on the network. Other features of the NetArchiver include time-stamping and power failure protection.

MTI File Services

MTI Technology Corp., of Anaheim, Calif., has introduced the latest edition of its MTI File Services, which includes a Network Attached Storage (NAS) component for its MTI Vivant storage system. This allows users to integrate both NAS and Storage Area Network (SAN) technologies, the company says.

Grau Data Storage Inc., of Louisville, Colo., has released its Infinistore series of network storage systems. The Infinistore Virtual Disk is a turn-key plug-and-play network storage server that combines hard disk RAID storage capacity, and ultra-capacity tape library, and integrated storage management software. It is designed to back up and archive data-intensive applications.

MediaFORM has added four CD-R production units to its product line. All come with standard 12x/8x selectable recording speed, and anti-piracy features including copy protection and electronic watermarking. The CD-3701 can replicate a single CD-R at one time; CD-3703 can copy up to three CDs at one time; CD-3706 duplicates up to six masters at the same time; and the AP1301I-t facilitates high-resolution printing on 300 CDs per run. The AP1301I-t is also a network-enabled print station that is compatible with both thermal and inkjet printing up to 1200 dpi.

Primera Technology has released Composer Optical Disc Duplicator, a turn-key duplication system that can be configured for either CD-R or DVD-R. It duplicates up to 50 discs per job from any Windows-based PC. Two models are available: the Composer CD-R with a Plextor 12x CD-R recorder and PrimoCD Pro Software; and the Composer DVD-R with a Pioneer DVD-R recorder and PrimoDVD software. Also available from Primera is the Conductor Printer Autoloader, which automatically loads blank or recorded optical discs into and out of a Primera Technology Signature III or Inscripta Printer.

Aelita Software has introduced its SnapReports system for the Microsoft Systems Management Service. It allows administrators to search, analyze and generate reports on stored data.
