SiPix Combines Camera, Printer
SiPix Inc. says its new SCP-1000 Digital Instant Camera marries a VGA digital camera with a 2 x 2.5 inch continuous tone color photo printer.
The unit is ideal for investigators and litigators, because it offers in-the-field printing and can store 56 images.
It is CompactFlash ready and includes a 2X zoom; four-mode built-in flash; self-timer; rechargeable lithium-ion battery, and battery charger. It can emulate a mass storage USB-enabled device and can act as a dedicated USB photo printer with any compatible PC.
SiPix also announced the release of its SP-1300 Shoot & Share 1.3camera, which connects directly to the new SiPix PocketColor 200 for instant printing.

CAMEDIA C-4040Z
Olympus America Inc. has introduced its CAMEDIA C-4040 ZOOM digital camera, featuring a 4.1 megapixel CCD, an F1.8 3X zoom lens, and 7.5X digital zoom. Captured images can be enlarged to 3200 x 2400 pixels in SHQ or HQ mode, and printed at up to 16 x 20 inches.

Toshiba PDR
Toshiba America Information Systems Inc. has introduced new cameras in its PDR line:
* The PDR-M81 offers a 4.2 megapixel CCD sensor, and can capture 2400 x 1600 images. It has a 6X zoom, and redesigned lens.
* The PDR-M21 is a 2.1 megapixel camera aimed at entry-level users. It can shoot as high as 1600 x 1200 resolution, and includes an 8 MB SmartMedia memory card that can hold up to 97 images.

Nikon Coolpix
* Coolpix 775 features a "one touch" button to upload digital images to the desktop or Web; a 3x zoom lens; and 2.14 megpixel CCD.
* Coolpix 995 incorporates pop-up flash, and offers a 3.34 megpixel CCD. It comes with a 4x Optical Zoom-Nikkor lens.
