Practice Tools
RIA Checkpoint 4.0 Revamps Search Tools
RIA Checkpoint 4.0 offers upgraded search tools and new content to the Web-based tax information service.
Enhancements include customized (practice area specific) tax thesauruses that generate lists of words related to users' search queries, and displays "words around hits" to improve search results.
Users can also "search within results" and use the Web service's "table of contents" to narrow search parameters. They also can modify search terms within an existing results set to further focus results, says RIA.
Two new practice areas have been added: financial reporting and management; and payroll compliance, reports the company.
RIA (a Thomson Company) was formed with the joining of Research Institute of America; Computer Language Research; and Warren, Gorham & Lamont.
