IS IT possible? Has the millennium year really come to an end already? This year saw the ups and downs of dot.com ventures; the sizzle of application service providers; the maturing of "knowledge management" tools; and so much more. (Never mind that we have yet to see the long-promised emergence of e-filing in the nation's courtrooms.) So what is next?

Probably the most anticipated launch is WestWorks, scheduled for early next year. Will Internet repositories continue to gain momentum? Will voice recognition come closer to prime time? Watch these pages to see!

Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy our annual December special issue, which includes our Reader Response awards, and our 2000 index, in addition to our "emerging technology" articles.

I also am thrilled to announce two new members of our Editorial Advisory Board: Dan Coolidge, a frequent contributor to these pages; and Philip Hamilton, who replaces the retiring Jacqueline Mitchell, (who are both active in the Association of Legal Administrators.)
