Elite, Whitehill Announce Alliance
Canadian Software company Whitehill Technologies and Los Angeles-based Elite Information Systems have announced an agreement whereby Elite will incorporate Whitehill's flagship Wordflow into its product line, including the Elite Professional Billing System.
Whitehill's products transform text and numerals from any output into customized word processing, spreadsheet or Web documents, they explain.

Alliances
Software Technologies Inc., based in Lincoln, Neb., has announced enhanced integration its time-and-billing package, TABS III version 9, and Amicus Attorney IV, a practice management package from Toronto's Gavel and Gown Software. The integration includes two-way synchronization of client and matter file information, eliminating double entry in both systems, the companies note.

Arthur Andersen and Bridgeway Software Inc. have announced an alliance to deliver combined consulting and technology to help firms manage operations, focusing on Bridgeway's new eCounsel Internet-based practice management system.

IntraLinks and Capital Printing Systems Inc. have formed an alliance in which Capital Printing -- which integrates the stages of financial production -- will offer Intralinks DealSpace to its customers online. DealSpace is a secure, Internet-based collaboration service.

Procom Technology, of Santa Ana, Calif., has teamed with Hewlett Packard. Procom says it will provide a hardware platform and thin OS client for incorporation into HP's Network Attached Storage appliances market, serving Windows NT and UNIX markets.
Procom also has signed a distribution agreement with El Segundo, Calif.-based Merisel Inc., for distribution of Procom's DataFORCE CD server and NetFORCE NAS appliances.

Shaman Corp. and Support.com, both providers of online tech support, have formed an alliance. Shaman will extend Support.com's capabilities through its Enterprise Shaman portal, where consumers can acquire bug fixes and updates to their software packages.

ProLaw Software, of Albuquerque, says its namesake software is now compatible with the Legal Electronic Data Exchange Standard (LEDES) electronic billing format.
The format, developed by Pricewater-house Coopers, was developed to simplify billing standards, reducing confusion among corporate clients, ProLaw says.

In a deal valued at $445 million, Sage Group plc has agreed to acquire Best Software. The deal will add Best's HR/payroll and fixed asset software to Sage's line of PC accounting software for small to mid-size businesses.
