LEXIS Debuts Intranet Portal
LEXIS Publishing has introduced its new LEXIS Intranet Portal, which offers a single point of access for searching both a law firm's internal documents (such as briefs and memos), and external sources (such as the lexis.com research service and the Web). Scheduled to launch late this quarter, it coexists with existing Intranets, and is aimed at middle - to large-sized firms.

Intellectual Applications Inc.'sALECTO Online is a browser-based, matter management application that allows intellectual property lawyers to access and manage their IP portfolio from anywhere in the world, using any Web browser.
The product uses three types of security protocols -- functional security, field level security and data security -- to keep transmissions secure.

Elite.com Inc. has introduced TimeSolv, a Web-based service that allows users to enter time and expenses anytime, anywhere, via the Internet. Lawyers can use any handheld, laptop or computer and can dictate entries using a touch-tone phone, or "beam" hours into the Timesolv system using a wireless device, says the Los Angeles company.
Using a standard browser. lawyers can access tools to track time and expenses, produce invoices, generate reports, management accounts receivalbe and streamline other practice management functions, it explains.
