LEXIS Debuts Intranet Portal

LEXIS Publishing has introduced its new LEXIS Intranet Portal, which offers a single point of access for searching both a law firm's internal documents (such as briefs and memos), and external sources (such as the lexis.com research service and the Web). Scheduled to launch late this quarter, it coexists with existing Intranets, and is aimed at middle - to large-sized firms.

San Francisco's Casecentral.com Inc. has announced that it will provide litigation support services as part of the ELF Serengeti application service provider Web site, the companies report.

The site, located at www.SerengetiUS.com, offers a single point of access for industry-specific software and services, including case management; time-and-billing; electronic invoicing; deposition repository; video conferencing; litigation support; legal document construction; business intelligence and more, the companies note.

Baltimore's Needles, which produces customizable legal case management software, has launched its new Web site, www.needleslaw.com. It offers users an overview of the company's software, training, and support, as well as information about the history of the company.

Current users also can visit a "Clients Only" Web page to request tech support or receive step-by-step instructions on problem solving, as well as downloadable patches and utilities, and more.

San Mateo, Calif.- based iManage has launched infoLink 2.0, a Web portal module designed to enhance communication with colleagues, customers, suppliers and partners. It extends collaborative capabilities to the Internet, allowing users to share timely information with key contacts.

It offers secure content distribution and navigation; remote user access; easy check-in and check-out of content; and auto-notification via iManage's infoLook module.

ALECTO Online

Intellectual Applications Inc.'sALECTO Online is a browser-based, matter management application that allows intellectual property lawyers to access and manage their IP portfolio from anywhere in the world, using any Web browser.

The product uses three types of security protocols -- functional security, field level security and data security -- to keep transmissions secure.

The company also has released Smart Exchange, a utility that enables ALECTO users to synchronize data with personal Information Management software such as Microsoft Outlook or Lotus Notes.

Trademark and copyright service Thomson & Thomson has announced an agreement with the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) to compile all the data from its domain name registrars for use in trademark research.

Elite's TimeSolv

Elite.com Inc. has introduced TimeSolv, a Web-based service that allows users to enter time and expenses anytime, anywhere, via the Internet. Lawyers can use any handheld, laptop or computer and can dictate entries using a touch-tone phone, or "beam" hours into the Timesolv system using a wireless device, says the Los Angeles company.

Using a standard browser. lawyers can access tools to track time and expenses, produce invoices, generate reports, management accounts receivalbe and streamline other practice management functions, it explains.

NowDocs.com

NowDocs.com has launched a "desktop to doorstep" service with same-day printing and delivery service in 16 top business markets; and next-day and second-day delivery nationwide. International markets include Hong Kong, London and Toronto.

The Internet system automates the time-consuming tasks of printing, collating and binding, says NowDocs.com, based in Aliso Viejo, Calif.

Premiere Document Distribution has upgraded XWEB, its Web-enabled document delivery service. Users can manage the distribution of documents to multiple fax or e-mail addresses, for documents such as depositions, merger and acquisition announcements, and litigation memos, says the company, of Eatontown, N.J.
