O'Connor Joins Applied Legal
Tom O'Connor has joined Applied Legal Technologies, Inc. as a consultant, based in ALT's new Seattle, Washington office.
A member of the LTN Editorial Advisory Board, O'Connor formerly worked for CourtLink Inc., and other legal technology companies.ALT is a Minneapolis-based company that specializes in trial technology and litigation support for businesses and law firms. ALT's new office is located at 826 United Airlines Building, 2033 Sixth Ave, Seattle 98121.
LegalVoice, based in New Jersey, has named Matt Lafata as head of its AccountingVoice division. Previously, Lafata was executive vice president of the Sage U.S. Time Billing division.
Paige Miller also has joined LegalVoice, and will lead its Pennsylvania office. Previously, she was the head of marketing at MarketSpan, a legal dot.com purchased in 2000 by CourtLink.
Applied Discovery Inc. has named four regional sales managers: J. Douglass Batcheller and Michelle Haddad for the Eastern regions; Barry Dop for the Midwest; and Dave Wilner for the West.
Batcheller comes from Researchers Inc. services.
Haddad is a paralegal and former project manager with Akin, Gump, Strauss, Hauer & Feld. Dop most recently directed a sales team for Researchers Inc.
Wilner was a partner with the Seattle office of Cozen and O'Connor.
Elite Information Systems International Inc. announced that David Langdon has joined the company as a non-financial products consultant/trainer. Prior to joining Elite, Langdon worked for the London law firm of Nabarro Nathanson as its marketing database manager.
Jim Summers has joined @Court, an Internet-based court electronic filing service, as its new CEO. Previously, he served for six years as president of Display Business Group, a Dynatech Corp., in Santa Clara.
Michael Foulkes is vice president of marketing for eCertain, an Internet delivery service. Previously, he was vice president of marketing for Kinko's, Inc.
1GlobalPlace, Inc. reports that Evan Katz has joined the company's board of directors. Katz, with expertise in intellectual property, Internet, and e-commerce law, is general counsel and vice president of business development of IPnetwork.com.
Prior to joining IPnetwork.com, he was with Kane Kessler, P.C.
Paula Monopoli and Marin Scordato, both visiting scholars at the University of Maryland School of Law, have joined NextClient's Advisory Board.
Monopoli founded and maintains PortiaLaw, a Web site for women lawyers and law students.
Scordato is a law professor at Southwestern University School of Law.
Jeff Shumway and Kyle Westover have joined MediConnect.com Inc. Shumway will serve as vice president of sales and marketing.
Westover is the company's executive director of human resources.
Previously, Shumway served as president and C.E.O. of the Utah-based DotCom Solutions.
Westover was global training manager for Modus Media International and vice president of human resources development for Long Drug Stores.
