Ross Is Named West Group CTO
Ken Ross has been appointed senior vice president and chief technology officer at West Group. He will drive the company's overall technology strategy and direction, systems development and technical infrastructure.
Previously, he served as vice president of business information and e-commerce Systems at West Group. He received a bachelor's degree from Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a doctorate from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
Carolyn Ullerick has joined the Lexis-Nexis Group as chief financial officer. She was previously vice president and chief financial officer for Hostess Frito-Lay Canada, where she was responsible for strategic and business planning, accounting and reporting, evaluation of existing an new businesses and competitive analysis. She received a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from the University of Western Ontario.
PurchasingNet Inc. (formerly American Tech Inc.) has named Kevin Spake vice president of marketing communications. Spake will oversee the marketing and communications efforts for PurchasingNet's eProcurement services as well as perform market research and analysis.
Previously, he served as vice president of product marketing for Retail Decisions Inc. of Hazlet, N.J., where he managed the product planning for its international e-commerce technology,
Philip Crosby has joined Corpedia Education, a Web-based corporate e-learning provider, based in Phoenix, Az. Crosby is a former vice president of ITT and current chair of Philip Crosby Associates II. Corpedia and Crosby will release a suite of up to five courses on quality management.
The Technology Group, a Baltimore-based firm specializing in Internet and software products and services, has hired Steve Farace as marketing coordinator, and Jill Teske as an applications development specialist.
Teske previously worked as an estate planning paralegal at Piper, Marbury, Rudnick, and Wolfe L.L.P. She received a bachelor's degree from James Madison University.
Farace will support the marketing efforts for the company's products and services, including trade shows and other events, advertising, brochures and customer database management.

Xplor International's Association has voted James Shand its 2001 chairman of the board of directors. Shand is commercial director for edotech Ltd., based in Gloucestershire, England.
