Elite Encompass Uses SharePoint

Christopher Poole, chairman and CEO, Elite Information Systems Inc. |
ELITE Information Systems Inc.'s new document management system, Elite Encompass, is built on Microsoft Corp.'s SharePoint Portal Server and will no doubt compete against iManage and PC DOCS. It is a "digital dashboard" ("portal") platform that provides users with a comprehensive view of firm-wide data, and offers a centralized document repository, says Elite. Encompass offers Extranet capabilities, folder storage policies, offline support and application integration features. It allows users to collect, view and collaborate on documents, be they personal, team, corporate, or from external sources. Users can search on both structured and unstructured text-based data, including HTML, PDF, tiff, and Exchange files.
