California: A special CLE package is being offered by law.com to help California lawyers comply with mandatory CLE requirements by the Jan. 31 deadline for those in compliance group three (last names N-Z).

Those who do meet the CLE requirements are placed on "not entitled to practice" status and will have their names listed on the bar's Web site (www.calbar.org).

As part of their hours, California attorneys must meet special requirements of four hours of ethics, one hour in substance abuse/emotional distress, and one hour of credit in courses about elimination of bias in the legal profession. The law.com packages include seminars on these topics, plus an additional 19 hours of general credits.
