SurfinGate for E-Mail, from Finjan Software Inc., is an e-mail security system that uses behavior-inspection technology and anti-virus scanning to block new, unknown malicious code attacks without virus signature updates. It is available in a pre-configured appliance, and also as a software plug-in to Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server.

Users sign up for tests by submitting their name and e-mail address.

The system conducts numerous checksing, including tests to see if a server blocks VBS attachments, whether a mail server detects and blocks files with CLSID extensions, whether a corporate system is protected against e-mails using the MIME exploit, or if a machine is vulnerable to the ActiveX exploit.
