California jurors now have a Web site to explain the basics of jury service, reports the San Francisco Association for Docket, Calendar & Court Services. The site allows potential jurors to ask questions online and express their views about service.

West Legal Studies has released The California Legal Directory, by Judy Long. It describes state and federal court systems and filing requirements, and provides information about various court rules and procedures. Legal correspondence, pleadings, and Judicial Council forms and samples are included.

MASSACHUSETTS
NLJ Goes Regional
The National Law Journal has launched its first regional edition, for Massachusetts. An Illinois edition is planned for the near future, says publisher American Lawyer Media Inc. (which publishes LTN).
The new standalone edition features statewide legal and industry news, case summaries of decisions from across all state and federal courts in the state, and information on case verdicts and settlements. It also features reporting on practice trends and law firms and attorneys.
Case summaries include links to free, full-text opinions online, which will be available on a same-day basis. The new section also includes guest articles contributed by lawyers and legal scholars; a calendar of events and meetings; regional court calendars; bar association news and court rules; attorney/firm profiles; and regional display and classified advertising.

"Incubator" Opens
NP Accelerator L.L.C., a subsidiary of the law firm Nixon Peabody L.L.P. has announced a partnership with Synfusion Inc. to operate a "business incubator" in Nixon Peabody's office in McLean, Va. NP Accelerator "will facilitate the flow of applicants, mentors, strategic partners and capital to the business incubator, and will facilitate the provision of legal services to incubator companies by Nixon Peabody attorneys," report the companies.
Synfusion will also bring in emerging businesses, and "apply its proprietary iPad (incubation pad) environment," which includes business and technical support, they note.
