West Introduces New Research Tools
KeyCite Notes, available on Westlaw.com, provides access to authoritative references, including cases, administrative materials and analytical sources that cite a particular case and a given point of law.
After finding a case on Westlaw.com, researchers click a KeyCite Notes link in the headnote or opinion to view and select from a list of publications that cite a case for a particular legal issue.
* WestCiteLink 3.0 offers Smart Tag functionality for Microsoft XP users, automatically finding and identifying legal citations. Once a statute or case law citation has been recognized in a document, the software links users to the corresponding document on Westlaw.com.
* Researchers can now access West Group materials from within DEAL PROOF, linking directly from case law and legal references in their documents to the underlying sources within Westlaw.com. American Lawyer Media Inc., publisher of Law Technology News, has a small equity interest in DEAL PROOF.
