SnapTalk 3 for OS X focuses on the messaging needs of the professional Macintosh law office, reports Glass Bead Software L.L.C., of Acton, Mass.

It offers archiving by case, client or date; secure encrypted messaging; automatic compression for file transfers, and more. The secure instant messaging and file transfer/compression software now runs native over OS X, it says, and is also fully compatible with OS 8.1 and OS 9.

Macworld Conference and Expo will be held July 15 through 19 at the Jacob K. Javits Center, in New York City.

The event includes full-day workshops ranging from Mac OS X to Webmaster applications. The keynote speaker has not been announced, but usually is Apple Computer Inc.'s chief Steve Jobs.
