McCaffrey Named BNA Editor-in-Chief
Gregory C. McCaffrey has been elected vice president and editor-in-chief at the Bureau of National Affairs, Inc.
He joined BNA in 1986 as a reporter and editor, and helped create and launch BNA's Americans with Disabilites Act Manual, and has held management positions on the Daily Labor Report, Labor Relations Weekly and other publications.
ELF, of Mercer Island, Wash., has promoted Nancy ffitch to the post of vice-president of product management, the company has announced. She joined ELF in 1997 as lead designer for its "Law Firm Edition" service, and then was named director of product research.
ELF also hired Anne Wilbur as manager of business development. She will focus on Serengeti, ELF's ASP for the legal industry. She has 11 years experience in high tech, and served seven years at Lotus Development Corp.
Julie K. Moriarty has joined Merrill Document Management Services business unit as director of product management. She now directs product management and marketing for products related to imaging services. A graduate of the University of Virginia, she served as president of business development for Trion Technologies.
James P. Dougherty has been named president and COO of IntraLinks Inc. He previously was vice president and general manager of the Prodigy Business Solutions Group of Prodigy Communications Corp.
Bowne & Co. Inc. has announced the death of its president and COO, James P. O'Neil, 55. He died of cardiac arrest on Jan. 13, in Manhattan, the company reports. Last year, Mr. O'Neil had turned over the day-to-day operations of the company to Duncan P. Varty, senior vice president, operations; and Kenneth W. Swanson, senior vice president, manufacturing, the company notes.
David Kuttler has been promoted to sales representative for Miami and Fort Lauderdale, Bowne also announced. He will help Bowne expand its customer base in South Florida.
EBSCO Information Services has named Alan T. Nordman vice president of business development. He comes from Dawson Information Services, where he was most recently Global Director of Dawson's Subscription Division.
PrivateExpress.com has announced its management team. Max Henry will be president and CEO, while the company's co-founder Eng-Kiat Koh will be vice president of product development for the company.
Henry previously served as president and COO of Fabrik Communications Inc., and as a vice president and general manager at NeXT Computer Inc.
Koh was the multi-media program manager at ITI.
Seattle-based application service provider DocuTouch Inc. has named Torrey Russell as director of marketing, and Louis Hazim as director of international sales. Russell most recently was vice president of sales and marketing at Ultrabac.com, a Bellevue, Wash.-based company. Hazim was president/founder of Technologix, of Kirkland, Wash.
Corporateonline Inc., of Acton, Mass., an application service provider (ASP) of sales, purchasing, legal and financial activities, has elected Robert A. Paul as president, CEO and director.
The Legal News Network, an online resource for journalists has announced that Larry Smith has joined as editor-in-chief and will be based in the New York area. Smith previously worked with Aspen Law & Business' Of Counsel, as editor-in-chief for more than a decade.
Susan Post Munafo has joined as director of sales and distribution. Munafo previously launched the Internet division of a federal government contractor and worked with LEXIS Publishing.
