CourtEXPRESS, based in Washington, D.C., has unveiled new "alert" services. They include "Client Watch," which monitors new federal civil litigation; "Rain Maker," which lists new cases by subject matter; "Case Tracker," which pulls current docket sheets for any case; and "Due Diligence," which searches federal bankruptcy, civil, criminal and appellate case indices for any cases involving prospective clients or employees. Users can pre-order docket sheets and complaints for cases found.

BNA 706 Preparer

BNA 706 Preparer automates preparation of the estate tax return (IRS form 706) and related schedules. From BNA Software, it features a new "smart" data entry system that guides the user through the 706 form and automatically adds required schedules and forms as needed.

Schedule item entry includes automatic continuations and calculations as necessary, and schedule totals are automatically carried over to the main form.

ScanSoft Inc. and American LegalNet have joined forces to offer online access to numerous federal and state forms at uscourtforms.com. ScanSoft's OmniForm electronic forms technology will be incorporated into the site, it says.

Quick&Easy

DataTech Software Inc. has introduced the latest upgrade of its Quick&Easy immigration forms package. Nearly three dozen petitions, applications, notices and other key paperwork are available.

Users enter data via screens that exactly duplicate the forms, says the company.

The software calculates math functions, checks for misspelling and resolves issues such as continuations or field overflow.

106th Congress

Legal Content Inc., a company established by former West Publishing editors, has completed codification of all laws from the 106th Congress, current through Feb. 6. (except U.S. Public Law 106-554, which has not yet been fully released). LCI provides daily integration of the Federal Register into the Code of Federal Regulations, it advises.
