LEGAL TECH New York has become the premiere legal technology show, and once again, this year's show offered an exciting look at new developments.
One hot trend is obvious: wireless.
During LTNY, Monica Bay and I hosted Legal Tech Live! a real-time Web cast, co-sponsored by American Lawyer Media Inc. and West Group. Our segment showcased some of the highlights of LTNY, and wireless was the main theme.
Our picks: Heller Ehrman White & McAuliffe L.L.P., which just launched a wireless-accessible Web site, www.HEWM.com, under the guidance of I.T. director Chris Montgomery and Per Casey of Tenrec Inc. Palm Inc.'s Erika Mobley demonstrated how lawyers can access West Group, Lexis-Nexis and other services on their Palm VIIs (and other wireless-enabled handhelds). IBM's Gregory Perleberg showed off the new TransNote ThinkPad that can access the 'Net without wires.
Cisco System Inc.'s Joe Diodati talked about where wireless and other legal technology is headed; and Jason Finger from SeamlessWeb.com showed us how your law firm can even order a cake online!
