Elite Debuts TimeTrax
LOS Angeles' Elite Information Systems Inc. has announced the release of Elite TimeTrax, which the company describes as a standalone time and expense tracking application designed to be used with the Elite Professional Billing System.
TimeTrax can be used either online, in its connected mode; or offline, on laptops or remote PCs, advises the company. It offers task-oriented time entry and users can update the central database server with one button, says Elite.
TimeTrax also features customizable entry forms and a timesaving "cloning option" for weekly entry grids, Elite notes. It can port to Microsoft Outlook to create time entries; has multiple "timer" buttons; and a "help tools" menu that includes spell check, search-and-replace, cut/copy/paste, and a glossary, says Elite.

Xerox, Special Counsel Form New Partnership
XEROX Corp., of Rochester, N.Y., and Special Counsel, of New York, announced an alliance that they say is designed to help legal offices handle litigation support, case management and trial presentations.
The partnership will integrate Xerox's experience with document outsourcing and the production and management of paper and electronic documents, with Special Counsel's expertise in providing legal staffing of lawyers, paralegals and clerical support, and its litigation support history, the companies note.
Special Counsel has experience with litigation and case management software; imaging and indexing (including electronic copying services); licensing of software; and trial presentation services, the two companies report.
The alliance builds on a co-marketing agreement signed last year, to co-market their respective services, explain the companies. The companies plan to develop additional applications, they say.
Special Counsel is a subsidiary of Modis Professional Services, and has offices throughout the United States and affiliates abroad, it reports.
