People In The News Hires Ellen Jones

San Francisco-based has named Ellen Jones its new chief operating officer. Working from its Washing- ton, D.C. office, Jones will oversee most of the company's day-to-day operations, including consulting/project management, its data management group and repository operations. Jones previously was director of litigation services at Howrey & Simon, a D.C.-based law firm.

Interface Software, the Oak Brook, Ill.-based developer of InterAction relationship management software, has named Alec Wilson vice president of worldwide sales and Mark Crosbie vice president of software development.

Wilson previously worked with KPMG Peat Marwick and Computer Associates; Crosbie held posts at McKesson HBOC Inc., and the First National Bank of Chicago.

David Evans is the new president of the Institute of Trade Mark Attorneys, based in Croydon, Surrey U.K. He will serve for two years in the post, and is a senior partner with F.J. Cleveland. has named Tomm Platt as its vice president of marketing and business development. Platt transfers from parent Elite Information Group Inc., where he served as regional sales manager.

David P. McFarland has been promoted to president of Tax Manage-ment, Inc., the tax information subsidiary of The Bureau of National Affairs, Inc. McFarland has held several posts in the company, most recently as vice president. has appointed Mark Redman as vice president and general counsel. Redman was an associate with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, and is a graduate of Columbia Univ. School of Law, and Hobart College.

Elite Information Systems Inc. has promoted Anne Eddings to senior vice president of customer service. Eddings previously was vice president, field operations.

Chuck Fruth has been named vice president of named global markets for the western division of Danka Business Systems PLC.

Princeton Softech has promoted Lisa Cash to president, from her prior post as vice president, North American sales.

Based in Princeton, N.J., the company develops e-business software and technology.
