Nolo.com

Nolo.com, the Berkeley-based self-help legal publisher, has joined forces with ARAG Group to provide over-the-phone professional legal advice via Nolo's Web site.

The service will be provided through the "Ask an Attorney" feature of LawExpress.com, a product of ARAG Group, that supplies over-the-phone advice from a nationwide network of attorneys.

For a flat fee ($39.95) Nolo visitors can phone a LawExpress Telephone Network attorney in their state for answers to legal questions. ARAG screens and approves participating attorneys, and currently handles about 70,000 calls per year, from the compnay's employer-sponsored legal plans. Lexis-Nexis Group

Lexis-Nexis Group's LexisOne will provide secure online delivery of information via Certia Inc.'s CerTrax Managed PKI Service. The software helps users control how data can be viewed, duplicated, forwarded, distributed or destroyed; even after the file leaves the desktop.

Lexis-Nexis Group and the Ohio Metropolitan Bar Association now offer a benefit program that includes special pricing for lexis.com.

The group includes bars in Akron, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Dayton, Toldeo and Cuyahoga County.

Lexis-Nexis Group also announced an alliance with Semio Corp. to utilize Semio Tagger*, a taxonomy system for searching large amounts of unstructured information online.

DigiStamp Inc. and EuroSignCard S.A. have partnered to offer the DigiStamp product suite as part of the EuroSignCard public key infrastructure.

Digiquant Inc. and Promon*IP have joined forces to offer Digiquant's Internet Management System to Brazil's communications and Internet service providers. It provides Internet access, protocol services, xDSL, voice over IP, unified communications, and GPRS for Internet-ready computers and handheld devices.

SkipWire has announced partnerships with OhFish Communications Inc., iGo Corp., and GroupServe, to distribute SkipStream Services and DownStream software. SkipStream Services is wireless upload technology, including file conversion, storage and e-mail services.

Ceridian Corp. has granted a license to Ultimate Software Group, Inc. to use Ultimate's UltiPro software for part of its online human resource management and payroll service.

SnapNames Inc.

SnapNames Inc. has partnered with NameBoy to link and enhance the domain name services of both companies.

The alliance combines SnapNames' SnapBack technology (which allows users to "backorder" a domain name), with NameBoy's Intelligent Search, (a domain name generation utility), to help lawyers and other users select and protect domain names.

MediConnect.net Inc. and Legal Files Software Inc. offer online medical records. Users of Legal Files Case Management Groupware can electronically request and retrieve medical records, claim histories, billing records, and police reports, from the new link to MediConnect.net.

DataCert Inc.

DataCert Inc. and Economic Analysis Group now jointly help corporate legal departments collect invoice data electronically from outside firms. Working behind firewalls, DataCert's ShareDoc/LEGAL interprets any invoice format provided, standardizes it into a common format used by legal departments, and delivers it securely to CaseTrak.

Acquisitions: Intego Buys . . .

Intego Inc. has completed its acquisition of three Macintosh security products from Highware Inc.: Intego DiskGuard and Intego FileGuard are encryption programs designed to protect SCSI and IDE hard disks, Zip and Jaz cartridges, and other files from unauthorized usage. Intego Personal Backup provides customized backup functions and synchronization.
