Child Support

CSE Resources Inc., based in Troy, N.Y., says its software is being used in three California counties to speed distribution of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families child support funds. Alameda, Stanislaus and Contra Costa counties, working together as a consortium, are using CSE's IV-A module, part of its CalWORKs system, it says.

Legal Research has announced its new LOIS Professional Library Delaware Series, on both CD-ROM and the Internet. The service includes Supreme Court case law from 1949 to the present; Court of Chancery case law from 1949 to the present; and Superior Court case law from 1948 to the present. (All include official pre-1966 and West pagination), says It also features state and federal court rules; Delaware statutes with legislative histories; and 1999 Legislative Acts, reports the company.

Voelker's CompCalc99 has been upgraded, reports James M. Voelker, of Peoria, Ill. The workers' compensation software now allows users to export results to word processors, Internet browsers and printers. The software (version 1999.32.2) helps lawyers perform many of the tedious math calculations necessary to file claims, such as determining the proper wage rates, says Voelker.

LEXIS Publishing has announced the release of Criminal Law in Illinois, two compact discs that are updated twice annually. The research system includes statutes, case law, state and federal rules, expert analysis, trial strategies, practice pointers, and more, reports LEXIS.

Creditors' Rights

The Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education has released Creditors' Rights in Illinois 1999 Forms on Disk. The kit supplements IICLE's creditors' rights handbook, and contains 60 forms, letters and agreements. It is available in WordPerfect and Word editions.

LEXIS Publishing has released Suppression Matters Under Massachusetts Law, by Judges Joseph A. Grasso Jr. and Christine M. McEvoy. Webcasting, a Webcasting service, has been launched by Point2Point Communications Solutions, of St. Paul. It is designed to offer Minnesota corporations and public relations firms a new tool for disseminating information via the Web.

XIOtech Corp., of Eden Prairie, says it has secured an additional $20 million in funding. The financing included existing XIOtech venture investors and a new lead investor, Technology Crossover Ventures of Menlo Park, Calif., it says.

The New York State Bar Association has published the Internet Guide for New York Lawyers. Edited by Albany attorney David P. Miranda, the 300-page softbound book covers basic information such as e-mail confidentiality, Web browsers, listservs and newsgroups, and more.

CLE Tapes

The National Law Foundation has announced the availability of a variety of continuing education tapes, including several courses on ethics.

Defense Journal

LEXIS-NEXIS has announced that The Journal of the Defense Association of New York is now available online. The quarterly publication is devoted to the defense of insurance claims, and contains topical articles on the practice of insurance defense and summaries of recent New York insurance-related cases.

DL Drafting Libraries has announced the release of New York state libraries for divorce, co-op sales, tenant evictions, and foreclosures.

New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies has launched The Virtual College.

It has numerous online courses, including Master's and Advanced Professional Certificate programs.

It also offers an undergraduate degree programs for adults, reports NYU. Among the classes are Electronic Commerce, Internet Technologies, and UNIX System Management.

Real Property/Tax

Blumberg's Law Products has released Commencing a New York State Real Property Tax Certiorari Proceeding, third edition, by N. Theodore Sommer and Lisa Tagliaferri.

The practice manual includes sample forms and a forms disk, and covers the revised 1997 rules and forms for New York City, and counties outside of New York City, says Blumberg Excelsior. The book also contains revised forms for 1998, it notes.

Consolidated Laws

LEXIS Publishing has announced the release of the New York Consolidated Laws Service, the latest component of its Authority New York Law and Practice Library.

The set is produced by the company's Matthew Bender & Co. Inc. unit, based in New York.

The new product provides annotated state code services, including coverage of all the Consolidated Laws oif New York; the Constitutions of New York and the U.S. It also includes selected unconsolidated laws, as well as major court acts and rules, says the company.
