PageVault security system is a fully exportable client/server application that uses encryption and Internet technology to protect digital information, says Authentica. It determines who can see a document, which pages, when, and for how long they can be viewed, says Authentica, of Waltham, Mass.

Baltimore Technologies

X/Secure uses Public Key Intrastructure technology to protect XML transmissions via Intranet, Extranet and Internet applications, says Baltimore.

UniCERT 3.0 is an upgrade of Baltimore's certificate authority program. It features a new key archive server, allowing secure backup of users' secret keys, as well as enhanced digital certificate lifecycle management.

Communication Intelligence

Sign-It Secure, a signature verification program captures signatures electronically in PDF format, and verifies the authenticity of the signatory, CIC asserts.

Data Fellows

San Jose's Data Fellows has introduced two Linux products: F-Secure Anti-Virus for Linux offers comprehensive virus scanning and protection, with automatic schedule updates via the Internet, it says.

F-Secure VPN+ for Linux secures Virtual Private Networks, protecting TCP/IP networking in local area networks.

F-Secure Workstation Suite 4.0 combines anti-virus protection with encryption technology to protect sensitive network traffic and files stored on hard disks.

FINJAN Software

SurfinShield Corporate 4.0 is a desktop security system that protects against malicious mobile code from the Internet, by monitoring Java and ActiveX elements running on individual PCs, says Finjan, based in San Jose. Firm administrators can manage security and set firm-wide security policies from a central console, it says.

GFI FAX & VOICE

London's GFI has launched an e-mail encryption feature for Exchange/SMTP, that prevents e-mail interception, tampering and fraud. It uses PGP (Pretty Good Privacy) format, encrypts/decrypts mesages centrally and allows users to send/receive e-mail without installing client security software.

IBM

SecureWay Firewall v. 4.1 for Windows NT(b) and AIX(a) offers improved e-mail protection and beefed up security for multimedia applications, says IBM.

Identix Inc.

Identix Inc., of Sunnyvale, Calif., and Motorola Semiconductor Products, of Austin, Texas, have formed an alliance to develop fingerprint-based security systems using Motorola's semiconductor architecture.

Identix also announced an alliance with Minneapolis-based Digital River, to offer network security fingerprint indentificaiton software and hardware products online.

Identix has introduced four new products: Fingerscan V20 is an access control reader which scans an entrant's fingertip for identification; TouchPrint 600 AFS is a fingerprint workstation designed to provide fingerprint scanning. BioLogon 2.0 software and BioCard smart card applications are now being shipped, it says.

DoubleCheck for Windows 95/98/NT helps reduce check fraud and improves reconciliation processing, reports Boston's IPS. It accepts most payment file formats and automatically configures and transmits a positive pay file in formats acceptable to banks.

ePad is a pen input device that can capture handwritten signatures for use in network applications. It can be used to sign electronic documents and forms, authorize electronic transactions and access signature-based security systems, reports the Camarillo, Calif. company.

International Software Solutions Ltd.

iProtect 1.4 is a Windows 95/98/NT4 utility that protects documents, folders and programs from unauthorized access and accidental deletion, says ISS, based in Tyrone, Northern Ireland.

Internet Security Systems

Internet Security Systems, based in Atlanta, has upgraded its risk assessment systems, it reports. Among the enhancements, Database Scanner 3.0 offers improved Oracle support and integration; Internet Scanner 6.0 now offers updates and improved customization; System Scanner 4.0 now supports more than 24 platforms, including Linux, says ISS.

InvisiMail International, Ltd.

InvisiMail Enterprise 4.0 and InvisiMail Pro Gateway 4.0 are e-mail security systems for corporate networks. They offer encryption; anti-virus and content scanning; and more, and mail archiving, says ISS, based in San Francisco.

Motion Media Technology

MMT, of Bristol, U.K., has released eyesite 300, a video transmission system for remote surveillance applications. Designed for small firms that need low cost, remote access to CCTV systems, it offers high quality video over standard ISDN lines, says the company.

From PC Guardian, of San Rafael, Calif:

Encryption Plus for Hard Disks has been upgraded, and is available in both 56-bit and 192-bit key lengths. Santa Clara's Intel Corp. has picked Encryption Plus with Secure Export software for its new Internet Utilities suite of software.

The Perma-Dome All-Purpose Anti-theft Package Model 1800 uses an advanced high tech bonding process to prevent theft of PCs and other equipment.

The company has collaborated with Macmillan Computer Publishing USA to provide two encryption software programs on Macmillan's new CD-ROM release, the Personal Security Starter Kit.
