It offers a variety of premium services built around a free, core time-and-expense tracking, invoicing and reporting system, it says. Extras include telephone and PDA access, hard-copy invoicing, fax, snail mail, certified mail and FedEx services.

Easy Case & Billing: Easy Soft Inc., of Watchung, N.J., says its version 5.3.7 upgrade now handles billing, calendar entries, "to do" lists, client information, and more. Improvements include the ability to: back-up billing records to hard drive or disk; print "previous balance" and "total" for bills with prior entries; print page numbers on bills; spell check in either U.S. or Great Britain English; print up to four copies of the bill; interface with label printers; and integrate with the latest WordPerfect and Word editions, the company reports.

Palm Client Import: This new product allows lawyers to upload client information and appointment data from 3Com's Palm Pilot, into the TimeBills.com Web-based time tracking and invoicing service. The data can then be plugged into invoices, which TimeBills.com will send to customers electronically or via the mail, says the Boston company. TimeBills.com, which targets small firm/solo practitioners, can be accessed by Palm Pilot Desktop 2.0 and higher, it says. (See also, Web Watch, p. 51.)

Workforce Central Suite: Kronos International, of Waltham, Mass., has upgraded its labor management software to include a Microsoft Outlook interface, and has released a new version of its Web interface. Workforce Express now allows employees to use Outlook to record time.
