Publisher's Report
FIRST, let me extend our deepest condolences to all members of the legal community who are suffering in the wake of the September tragedies in New York, Washington, and Pennsylvania.
We are deeply stricken by the loss of life, and the incalcuable sadness caused by it. Our lives have been terribly fractured and disrupted.
Despite the tragedy, we decided to go forward with our LegalTech New York show in late September; partly because our mayor, Rudolph Guiliani, urged New York businesses to return to operation; partly because we felt this was an opportunity to serve the legal community in a time of crisis.
Just as Monica jettisoned the half-completed issue of Law Technology News in order to redirect much of the content to disaster recovery and related reports, we revised our LegalTech program, adding sessions to help those firms that were affected deal with unexpected technology challenges.
We also created a "technology triage" area with volunteer consultants, to advise firms whose offices were damaged or destroyed.
Monica and I both hope that you will find this issue of LTN helpful as you address the many complex aspects of recovering from this disaster. Whether you were at Ground Zero in Manhattan, or miles away, we were all affected by this disaster.
We hope that the articles will help you deal with your own challenges.
If you would like extra copies, please call our cirulation department at (800) 888 8300.
