MacroSuite 2.8 Creates Letters

SoftWise has released MacroSuite 2.8, the latest version of its document management software. The upgrade supports multiple address books from a single workstation. It can be used to create standardized letters, memos, fax cover sheets, pleadings and documents that require automatic paragraph numbering, the company says.

MacroSuite 2.8 integrates with Word 97/2000 or WordPerfect 7/8/9 and with DOCS Open/Power DOCS or iManage 4.x/5.x. It also supports third-party address book software such as GroupWise, Inter-Action, METZ Phones Pro and Outlook.

ELAN Paper2Web Solution helps users publish and digitize documents on the Web, says ELAN GMK.

It includes five applications:

* DocuMaid is a quality control software that cleans scanned or copied documents while still allowing them to be edited

* Converter transforms files into PDF formats and merges single and multi-page files.

* Indexer collects and populated index fields for Enhanced PDF files.

* Web Search acts as general-purpose search engine for searching and retrieving PDF files.

Optical Image

Total Solution for Document Management sends documents as URLs instead of as attachments, says Optical Image Technology Inc.

Users can transfer a file as a URL via e-mail, and the recipient receives a Web address where the file can be accessed. The recipient clicks on the highlighted URL and the file is opened within his or her browser, where the file can be mani-pulated, annotated or edited, etc., the company says.

Image Archiver

Xanatek Inc. has released its new imaging software, Image Archiver, which can scan up to 40,000 documents per month.

The service can be installed on an existing Novell Netware or Windows NT server, and supports TWAIN and ISIS compatible scanners and cameras. Applications, purchase orders, letters, invoices, contracts, etc. can be scanned and stored electronically.

PaperChaser.com, a provider of electronic document management, has signed an agreement with GoAmerica Inc., a wireless Internet service provider, that provides wireless document access to itscustomers. PaperChaser.com clients can access their electronic document repository on the PaperChaser.com Internet portal through the GoAmerica service on a variety of mobile devices such as pagers, PDAs and notebook computers.
